Darnell J. Wilson,
After graduating from Kent State and working as an RN for several years, Darnell felt compelled to give back to the campus that helped him discover Christ. In 2010, he took on the responsibility of leading NEO Impact into a new era of ministry. He is a minister at SPAN Church. For fun, he enjoys watching the Cleveland Browns try to win football games. Darnell currently resides in Cleveland, OH.
Born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, Darian Wilson is a ministry leader with NEO Impact. Darian graduated from Indiana University where she was involved in campus ministry. She has a passion for the gospel, people, and serving others. When Darian isn’t serving in ministry, you can find her spending time with her husband Robert, teaching dance, organizing, singing, or reading.
Melvin Stitt Jr., Ministry Leader
Melvin Stitt Jr. is a Cleveland native and received his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Kent State University. Melvin’s favorite things to do, include practice martial arts, watch movies, relax with family and friends, and play video games. He has been involved with Impact for 6 years. He continues to serve because the Lord used Impact to open his eyes to what it really means to live a Christ-centered life. Impact helped him grow into the man he is today. Melvin wants to continue to help students understand who Christ is and how to live a Christ-centered life.
Monique Uthman, Ministry Leader
Monique Uthman is from Rochester, New York and graduated with Bachelor’s degree from Kent State University in 2015. Monique’s favorite things to do are travel, dance, attend plays and movies, and spend time with family and friends. Monique has been involved in Impact for 7 years since her freshman year of college. Monique says she continues to serve, because God used Impact to bring her closer to Him. Impact is where she learned more about who Jesus Christ is and where she gained the tools and skills to grow her relationship with Jesus. Her identity rests in Jesus and not people’s opinion. She would have never learned that without Impact.
Joshua Igwe, Ministry Leader
Joshua Igwe is a Columbus, Ohio native and a recent graduate of Ohio University with a degree in Industrial and Systems engineering. Upon graduation in 2017, Joshua decided to intern with Cru at Ohio University serving African American students on campus. Now in his second year of the internship, he works with Cru and Impact in the Cleveland area. For fun, Joshua enjoys sports, good music, reading, and deep conversations.
Shayla Mays, Ministry Leader
Shayla Mays is from Akron, Ohio and attended Ohio University. Shayla loves reading, deep conversation, photography, music, and serving others. She has been involved with Impact since 2015 and continues to serve because she loves not only seeing students graduate with a degree, but a higher view of God. She loves to witness students understand scripture, and watch them go out and use their God-given gifts and talents to serve the Lord around the world.
Robert Wilson, Ministry Leader
Robert Wilson is from Lorain, Ohio and received his Bachelor’s degree from Kent State University. His favorite things to do, include reading and writing. Robert has been involved in Impact for 7 years. Robert says he continues to serve because he has experienced so much benefit from being a part of Impact, discipleship, leadership, development, counsel, and relationships. He also believes Impact is not “just another college ministry,” but a necessary ministry that is reaching people who are normally unreached. All these things motivate Robert to give time and energy back to building Impact up.
Jessica Garrett, Ministry Leader
Jessica Garrett is a Detroit native and received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The University of Michigan (Go Blue). She was the president of the Impact chapter there for two years. Jessica has a unique relationship with Impact. Her parents are on staff with Cru and she has been attending the national conferences since she was a toddler. Being apart of Impact during undergrad helped her to see her passion for being a part of college ministry, and she continues to serve alongside KSU Impact helping to disciple the women leaders. Jessica is happily married to Israel Garrett II and you can find them watching superhero movies with matching T-shirts.
Anora Burke, Ministry Leader
Anora Burke is originally from Cincinnati, OH and a Kent State University graduate. Anora enjoys binge watching old TV shows and movies, trying new foods, and going on mini-trips with her friends. Anora became a member of the Impact Movement in 2014 during her second year of undergrad at Kent State University, and has been involved ever since. Anora says she “fell head over heels in love with Jesus through this ministry.” It is the reason why she continues to serve today. Anora says “Impact is so much more than an organization or club, it is a community, it is MY FAMILY.”
Jasmine Hagan, Ministry Leader
Jasmine Hagan is originally from Atlanta, Georgia and graduated from Cleveland State University in May of 2015. Jasmine enjoys reading, attending concerts, and shopping. She has been involved with Impact since Fall of 2013. Jasmine says she continues to serve because she desires to see students know that their identities, confidence, and assurance is in Christ. Jasmine says she also wants students to know who God says they are, to believe it, and to live like they believe it.
