WHO WE ARE
Northeast Ohio (NEO) Impact is a chapter of The Impact Movement. NEO Impact includes a diverse group of leaders, community members, alumni, and clergy who are all passionate about seeing the life-changing power of the gospel unleashed throughout the next generation of leaders. Student leaders are overseen by the board of directors of The Impact Movement to ensure they are being shepherded and loved faithfully, gently, and biblically.
A church, by definition, is the “called-out assembly or congregation,” ekklesia in Greek. Though our chapter consists of members who have been “called out” of darkness, we do not take the place of the local church in the life of a student. We are a para-church ministry, “para” meaning “aside” or “adjacent to.” We walk alongside and partner with the local church to help fulfill the Great Commission given in Matthew 28:18-20.
Though we share similarities with the local church (with activities such as worship, preaching of the word of God, and regular gatherings with a defined purpose) we differ from the local church intergenerational. Most of our members are between the ages of 17 and 30.
We rely on funding for everyday ministry needs, but we do not collect offerings on a regular basis. Our support comes from local ministries or individual partners, either financially or in the provision of other resources.
